“Smile is a Foundation" is a non-profit foundation that, since 2011, has been promoting, organizing and coordinating humanitarian help projects in the bio-health field.

Our activities are carried out all over the nation, and in developing Countries - Africa, America and Asia in particular - and focus on all health- and life improvement-related aspects.

Bomani is a lodge located inside a 5,000 acre natural reserve in the Ngamo forest, just 1.5 km from the Hwange National Park gates. This area was formerly a fossil lake, and it was drowned by the sand of Kalahari from west over time. Today, the large plains are disseminated with natural lakes and plants, and offer a peaceful oasis to many wild animals.

The lodge is owned by Mark Butcher aka "Butch", a former Rhodesian and forest ranger, who now owns the "Imvelo Safari Lodges", a company devoted to photo safaris.

Andy Schatte is a Texan builder and one of the lodge's first visitors. Andy has been volunteering in a soup kitchen in Houston - his home town - for many years, and personally cooks in it once a week. In 2005, the two of them met Dr. Diego Romero, a dentist from Madrid, who volunteered for many years in South America.

In 2011, the "Sonrisas para Zimbabwe" project was born.
