The two-year Expert Course in Periodontics and Implant Dentistry is a training path that aims at forming professionals with the right theoretical and hands-on skills to allow them to treat patients with severe periodontal issues.

Students learn how to justify their treatment choices, based on protocols supported by scientific literature, and apply surgical techniques based on:

• Observational learning of professionals with broad clinic experience;
• Pre-clinical practices;
• Many occasions of hands-on practice on patients provided by PerioCentrum Academy.

The course is 2 year long (October 2020 - July 2022).

Students must attend the course for one week a month, for 4 days, from Monday to Thursday, for a total of 18 modules.

The course is divided into two days of theory (Monday and Wednesday) at the PerioCentrum Madrid Clinic and Training Centre.

The other two days (Tuesday and Thursday) are devoted to hands-on practice on patients.

For first-year students, Tuesday is dedicated to hands-on practice on patients, and Thursday to clinical residencies in PerioCentrum dental clinics (Segovia, Ávila, Guadalajara and Madrid).

For second-year students, both days are entirely devoted to hands-on practice on patients.

The course will include 1 module at the Ortiz-Vigon, PerioCentrum Bilbao Dental Clinic.

The two-year course will end in Madrid, with the presentation and dissertation of the cases treated by the students.

The course also includes an extra module (module 19) at the Vignoletti, PerioCentrum Verona, Dental Clinic.

• 600 hours of theory, pre-clinical and clinical practice on patients and medical residencies.
• Theoretical section comprising review and analysis of literature, master classes, seminars held by students, medical sessions and treatment plan to discuss the cases treated.
• Hands-on section comprising pre-clinical practice on silicone models or animals, clinical practice on patients and medical residencies.
• Medical practice on patients based on diagnosis, causative treatment, advanced periodontal surgical treatment, and implant and pre-implant reconstruction treatments.
• A team of international professors with proven experience in Periodontics and Implant Dentistry.
• Learning method based on active student participation, by presenting seminars, and discussing clinical cases and treatment plans.
• Option to take part in research projects and scientific publications.
• Registered to SEPA - Società Spagnola di Parodontologia e Implantologia
